Meet Dr. J. Leon Ramirez

J. Leon Ramirez, D.M.D., M.D.

Dr. Ramirez is a long time resident of Central Florida. He graduated from Dr. Phillips High School in Orlando and went on to complete his undergraduate degree in Biology at Rollins College in Winter Park.

Moving forward with his education, he completed his dental degree, receiving a DMD, from the University Of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia. He then obtained a MD from Harvard Medical School in Boston.

Dr. Ramirez’s surgical training was completed at the prestigious Massachusetts General Hospital, where he served as the Chief Resident and was awarded a post graduate certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. His training included two years of general surgery and rotations in anesthesia, otorhinolaryngology, plastic surgery and trauma. His comprehensive training also included substantial rotations through other Harvard Medical School affiliated hospitals including the Brigham and Women's Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Boston Children's Hospital.

In 2010, Dr. Ramirez joined Winter Haven Oral Surgery. He practices all aspects of office based oral and maxillofacial surgery and is a member of the Winter Haven Hospital Staff. He particularly enjoys CT guided implant surgery. Dr. Ramirez holds numerous memberships in his field including: American Medical Association, American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Florida Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Dr. Ramirez lives in Winter Haven with his wife Jennifer. They have two dogs, Dexter and Gus. They enjoy traveling and outdoor activities such as fishing, boating and spending time with family and close friends.
